Submission Rules:

All submissions must meet all of the following criteria:

All submissions must be either audio, enhanced (audio with slides), or video.

All entries should be submitted in an .mp3, .mp4, .m4a, .m4v or .mov format.

Academic Network media (audio, video, enhanced) should be in the 2-10 minute range. Submitted media can be segments of a longer podcast or an episode from a series, but still must adhere to the time restrictions.

The named author on the submission must be a student, group of students, or faculty member at one of the participating institutions. If a group of students author a submission, then all students must be named on the submission.

The named author(s) must be 18 years or older.

All material in the media must follow strict adherence to existing copyright laws including use of songs, pictures and text.

All entries must be submitted electronically.

Only one submission per category is allowed from each participating institution.

Individual media may be submitted to only one category.


Author must agree to these terms:

The copyrights and ownership of the work remain with the creator

The work will be attributed to the author(s)

The work is not available for commercial use

The media file and its transcript will be available on the competition website. Segments of up to 10 seconds may be used for competition promotional purposes.

The submission entries will be available indefinitely for research purposes.

Once submitted, the work may not be edited, abridged or manipulated.

Work must be original and proper attribution made to other sources.

Entrants agree to participate and provide information for any research carried out on the benefits of this tournament and its practices. Entrants agree to supply all of the required podcasting information along with the academic media entry submission. Entrants will also be asked to respond to a brief survey or questionnaire to facilitate research on the uses of academic media in education.

Media is submitted through local campus sponsor to East Tennessee State University
